About Us: St. Michael the Archangel Chapel
Our Heritage
St. Michael the Archangel Chapel in Midland, Texas is a traditional Catholic community dedicated to preserving the timeless beauty of the Catholic faith. Located at 3001 W. Golf Course Road in Midland, our chapel serves as a spiritual home for those seeking to worship according to the traditional Latin Mass and pre-Vatican II liturgical practices.
Our chapel is affiliated with the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX), a priestly fraternity founded in 1970 by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre to maintain the traditional Catholic faith and sacraments. The SSPX is named after Pope Pius X, whose anti-Modernist stance we uphold in our liturgical practices and teachings.

Our Mission
At St. Michael the Archangel Chapel, we are committed to:
-
Preserving and promoting the traditional Catholic faith in its fullness
-
Providing the sacraments according to the traditional Roman rite
-
Defending the Church against modern errors and maintaining fidelity to the perennial teachings of the Catholic Church
-
Creating a spiritual haven where the faithful can worship God in the manner of our forefathers
Our mission is rooted in our dedication to the traditional Latin Mass, which we believe most perfectly expresses the Catholic faith and provides the spiritual nourishment needed for souls in today's challenging world.
Our Community
St. Michael the Archangel Chapel serves Catholics throughout the Midland area who are drawn to traditional Catholic worship and teachings. Our community is diverse in age and background but united in our love for the traditional liturgy and doctrines of the Catholic Church.
We welcome all who seek to deepen their faith through the timeless treasures of Catholic tradition. Whether you are new to the traditional Latin Mass or have long been devoted to it, you will find a spiritual home in our community.

Our History in Texas
The Society of Saint Pius X has a long history of service in Texas, dating back to the 1970s when traditional Catholics began gathering to preserve the Latin Mass. Our chapel in Midland is part of this legacy of faith.
The SSPX apostolate in Texas began with small groups of faithful requesting the traditional Latin Mass. Through God's providence, these humble beginnings have grown into established chapels throughout the state, including our own St. Michael the Archangel Chapel in Midland.
You are Invited
We invite you to join us for Mass and experience the reverence, beauty, and spiritual depth of traditional Catholic worship. May St. Michael the Archangel, our patron, defend you in battle and be your protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
